This resource contains several videos which demonstrate Standards for Mathematical Practice 2: Reason abstractly and quantitatively. A strength of this resource is that it encourages students to think more critically about how to execute the math. Although the teacher should do a little less paraphrasing of what the students are saying. Rather have the students demonstrate and lead the conversation(s). A starting point to how we would adjust instruction to be more hands-on and engaging. With regards to the content each video addresses: the grade 5 (4.NF.1); the grade 5/6 video (minially) addresses 5.OA.3; the grade 6 (6.RP.1).
